Say NO to buying/selling/trading torrent tracker invitations

Torrenting. Many people do it, few people talk about it. And even fewer are honest.

If you want to get scammed, buy or sell a tracker invite. Wave bye bye to your money. If you want to keep your money then try trading for the invite you want. That way you'll only lose your invite. Cheating is rampant in the torrenting world. If you don't believe me just Google "torrent tracker trading" and read some of the crap that pops up.

Trackers don't approve of buying/selling/trading their invitations. And why should they? Those people don't give a darn about their ratios or making the trackers better places. All they want to do is use the trackers for their own selfish benefit. Which is somewhat of a paradox when you consider that the torrenting world is based on the free sharing of files.

You don't have to trade, buy, or sell to get the tracker invites you need. All you have to do is be an honest person and join http://www.torrent-invites.com.

Ariakis' Nerian Home

I spent two months working on this 6 room Nerian home for my friend Ariakis at 3 Walk of the Dead on Antonia Bayle. I can't even estimate how many hours it took.

The dark elf inquisitor Ariakis doesn't like clutter, flowers, frills, or too much "patternation." Overall this house needed a bold masculine "feel" - which was a hard frame of mind for me to maintain at times. But I have to say, it was refreshing to make a house without lillies in it!

The house is sharply divided into two sections - the upstairs, which are the private living quarters, and the ground floor, which is intended for entertaining. Let's start with the upstairs.

This room is split into two sections. First the library/study area.

Then turning around and looking at the wall towards the bathroom.

The bathroom, complete with curtained bathing area.

And now to the next room, which is a combination master bedroom and garden. He wanted it clean and simple, with a Zen type feel. He wanted flowing lines in the garden and wanted it calming rather than impressive while keeping with the masculinity of the home. This room gave me the most trouble because I don't know much about this style and wasn't quite sure what he wanted, but Ari was very patient and after a few false starts I managed to make something satisfactory.

And looking from the bed towards the garden.

Ari especially wanted a soothing water feature (it gave me tons of fits trying to get it to look right).

Now back downstairs. This is the entry hall as viewed from the door. Ariakis wanted his entrance room to be welcoming, yet exude an air of power and affluence. He wanted it to make the statement of the home but at the same time be suitable for formal entertaining.

This is a two-story fish tank with a few alterations made by Ari. He didn't like how I had the fish arranged, he wanted them to look more natural, like they were in a school instead of in separate areas of the aquarium. Then he tossed a squirming plushie in the little spot on top.

The dragon fireplace in the entry hall.

To the left is the kitchen and lounge area for casual entertaining.

The kitchen section of the bar.

Leaving the lounge area and looking out into the entrance hall.

Next is the dining room. Ari envisioned a room where important deals could be worked on at the table in addition to eating, so this room needed to be impressive.

And downstairs is the "Reeducation Room." I didn't post any screenies of this area overall because I don't think my fellow inquisitor would like me giving out the secrets of his work. But I did feel free to show you one wall, which consists of an altar to Innoruuk. I always envisioned Ari having a huge altar to Inny and I really tried to embody that idea in this piece.

Thaevek's Pillow Parlor

Anasur was commissioned to redecorate one room of Thaevek's home as a gesture of appreciation for all the hard work he put in for the Festival of Unity recently held on Antonia Bayle. And all I can say is, what a mess it was when I started! Poor Thaevek had tried to keep his expanding possessions under control but clearly failed. When I first saw this room the entire floor was covered (and I do mean completely covered) in Maj'dul pillows with all sorts of various things strewn around the edges of the walls.

Thaevek is a Kerra and adores his pillows. He kneads them, lays on them, and from the smell of them he even marks them. Thaevek is constantly on the prowl for female kitty companionship so it seemed to me that he needed a place suitable for mating. He also likes luxury. My task was to try to create a place that would fill both of these needs. But how to make a place that was luxurious with lots of pillows that didn't smell like cat pee? I started by tossing his old pillows into the street, then scrubbed the room until it was squeaky clean. Then I started sewing more pillows. I arranged them in a design that comes complete with scratching posts!

Erondis' Stronghold

These pics will be out of order due to the extreme difficulty of working with this blog setup. It's not what I'd call "user friendly" by any stretch of the imagination. But I wanted to get these pics posted and I'll put the rest up when I get home and have access to updated shots.

A Fireplace Freak - historical post

These are some fireplaces I made very early in my EQ2 decorating career. These were made from when the game went live to late 2005 on the Venekor server.

My very first attempt at decorating. Haide' Castleview Inn room.

Living room fireplace made for Friarr. Here I was going for a very dramatic look for High Elves.

Bedroom fireplace made for Friarr.

A living room fireplace made for Raeyzej.

Bedroom fireplace made for Tukk.

A living room fireplace made for Tukk. Though I wasn't exactly happy with the bearskin rug, the little dwarf was ecstatic with it.

Kainen's Hall - 5 Bayle Ct, Antonia Bayle

This home was made for Kainen at 5 Bayle Court on the Antonia Bayle server. I tried to stay primarily with warm colors. The little garden in the living room was made with a Wantia bed; I wanted to something a bit different with it. The fountain in the upstairs garden used a Maverick's Bath laid on its side - which was no small feat!
